Chakra Chords

Posted on Dec 11th, 2008 by Kaiya : Gaiad Kaiya
This may sound complicated... but once you get the hang of it it isn't actually all that bad... and it is very worth learning.

I've been working with twelve chakras. I realize this may seem overwhelming... afterall, just accepting that the chakras everyone talks about are real... is a leap at first. Adding more can seem a bit chaotic. Thing is, they really are available to work with, and doing things like... carefully turning down a specific chakra... is a lot easier if you use the whole set.

start at your tail

Tail
Pelvis
Navel
Solar Plexus
Heart
Lungs
Throat
Chin
Nosetip
Eyebrow
Forehead
Crown

These are spaced the same distance apart... the distance of our nosetip to chin - same as the distance betwen both eyes - and is the same distance between all the chakras. It seems to be true for everyone I've worked with.

So take any chakra that seems 'out of balance'... and count eight up from it (the starting 'home' chakra is 1). If you get to the crown, just continue at the tail and keep going up (so the eigth up from the heart is the crown, and the eight up from the eyebrow is the heart...)

Balance these two chakras. Put one hand on each, and use your intention to get them in harmony. Pay attention to any other strong feelings you are having in your system, and consciously let them go. For these moments, the two chakras in question are the only ones that matter.

The principal behind this is a lot like in acupuncture... if something in one place in the body is out of balance, the actual place to bring it back into to balance may be elsewhere. With the chakras... it is likely that there is an imbalance in an undiscolsed area. it doesn't rise to the surface until the harmony between these two points is focused on. It is likely that you'll get good enough at this, that as the mind focuses on the energetic 'chord' (chord between the chakras... AND chord like in music) made between these two chakras... your whole body will shake as you let go of whatever is creating the initial imbalance. It feels quite good : )

The reason this works has a lot to do with music theory. Every note in music vibrates really well with certain notes, and sounds dissonant with others. These two chakras resonate at rates that are in harmony, just like the basic structure of a musical chord.

Now to really get into your question... There is a lot more you can add in using this approach, like including a third chakra (the fifth to turn the energy up, the fourth to turn it down... the foundation is to tune our instrument (our body), and that starts with the two chakras I've illustrated. Once you get them down... you can add in the changes. This is a good way to get started.

For those interested... this is basically creating a 'power chord' like punk rock musicians use. It is a very strong resonance, and is good for cutting through the chatter, and asserting the energy YOU are trying to create in your own body. If you count the fifth up and use these three, you make a major chord. This will turn your whole bodies energy UP, if you are ready to handle it. The fourth up, included with the 1 and the 8... will make a 'minor' chord. and will turn your whole bodies energy down.

But to just calm down one chakra... I've found the initial balancing is enough.

Peace
